One Response to “The Big Roast”

London Restaurant Festival received several comments about The Big Roast Event. Festival organiser Simon Davis responds:

I am sorry to hear that a few people were disappointed by their experience at The Big Roast on Sunday. Many of your comments seem perfectly valid.

The initiative was one of 15 or so that we planned to mark the first year of the London Restaurant Festival.

The response to all of the events and the 500 restaurants running Festival Menus has been overwhelmingly positive so it makes these few complaints even more pertinent.

There were certainly some issues with the production of the event during initial sittings. The chefs did a great job and for a short period our main problem was ensuring that there was an even distribution of food amongst all the guests.

We may do The Big Roast next year as even those who felt let down seem to agree that the idea is essentially a good one.

If it does form part of The London Restaurant Festival 2010 I can assure you that we’ve taken all the points of criticism – as well as the feedback from several hundred happy customers – on board. So if we do it again we’ll get it spot on.

My apologies again and I hope you will continue to support the London Restaurant Festival in the future and can forgive us any teething problems we’ve encountered in our first year.

    Kind regards

    Simon Davis
    Festival Director
